We are extremely proud to partner with such a progressive hospital system that is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date imaging technology for their patients. Fewer than 100 of the more than 8,000 breast cancer screening sites in the U.S. have installed this newest generation of digital mammography equipment.
The entire press release is located here.
Congratulations to Methodist Hospitals of Northwest Indiana!
I have some exciting news to share that will positively impact healthcare for women throughout the world. Hologic announced recently that their 3-D Digital Mammography (Breast Tomosynthesis) System has received FDA approval and can now be used to tremendously improve clinical performance over conventional mammography.
This new technology dramatically improves specificity which enables physicians to more confidently rule out cancer without having patients come back for additional tests and also improves the ability to more accurately localize targeted structures within the breast. You can read the complete release here.
AXS Imaging is proud to be a premier partner with Hologic and the announcement of such industry-changing technology only further underscores our mission to bring you the best imaging solutions to provide optimum patient care. Congratulations to Hologic on your success!

I’ve always said one of the greatest assets of working with AXS is our people. And today, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a new team member who truly represents that mission of highly professional, personable sales and support. Her name is Kristi LeBeau and she is the new Sales Account Executive who will be covering central Indiana representing our Hologic line of products. A veteran in the business, she’s been selling medical equipment for 10 years primarily in women’s healthcare. Previously specializing in mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry for GE, she then moved to selling portable ultrasound for SonoSite & Terason before joining AXS.
She and her husband live in New Palestine with their two children, Tommy and Lucy who are the joy of her life. Her favorite hobbies include just about anything that includes water – from swimming in her pool at home to spending long weekends at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee where she loves to houseboat, water ski, swim and enjoy time with family and friends.
Welcome Kristi – we’re happy to have you onboard!

It occurred to me the other day that it’s important that you understand how KLAS determines which products are considered “best” in comparison to all the rest…and what that means to you when you buy a product that is Best in KLAS.
Focusing totally on health care technology, KLAS helps health care professionals, like you, make informed decisions when purchasing products for your facility. The company independently monitors vendor performance through the active participation of thousands of health care organizations using very strict methodology to help ensure all the data and ratings are accurate, honest and impartial.
At no time are personal opinions expressed about products. KLAS simply collects, aggregates, and publishes satisfaction data provided by product users which is the essential differentiator in value they can provide to you, the consumer.
At AXS, we are proud to offer several products which have enjoyed the highest ranking available from KLAS, including:
What is your experience with KLAS and their rating system? Do you agree with their findings? Have you always found the company’s information to be “accurate, honest and impartial?” I look forward to your feedback.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I wanted to take this time to recognize those 2.4 million fighting (and surviving!) breast cancer. Our family at AXS Imaging commends all those who are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, and wishes those battling it, a safe and healthy journey.
Recognizing our focus of providing customers with best-in-breed solutions for their patients, we have partnered with the top imaging companies for women’s health. One of our longstanding relationships is with Hologic who has spent the last 25 years focusing on women’s health. As you may know, Hologic recently received a favorable response from the FDA regarding their revolutionary 3-D digital mammography tomosynthesis system. You can read more here.
Another partner, MergeCAD, offers an application for breast MRI’s designed for standardized, efficient analysis, reporting and interventional planning. Their breast MRI application, CADstream, improves the efficiency of digital mammography analysis while also enabling more accurate diagnoses. It was recently named the Standard in Care by Frost & Sullivan. We’re proud to be associated with these two companies who continue to develop innovative, women’s health imaging solutions – solutions that can save lives.
It is my sincere hope that we may some day find a cure for this terrifying disease. In the meantime, please visit PromiseToMe.com, for resources and inspirational stories of hope.
Welcome to our AXS Imaging forum ! I’m excited to have this opportunity to talk with you and share valuable insight, imaging industry news and trends. I’d also like to invite you to join in on the conversation and give feedback on my thoughts as well as contribute your own insight.
In today’s forum, I’d like to share some new technology news I recently uncovered at the exclusive Canon Expo in New York City a few weeks ago. What an amazing two-day show! This expo was a showcase of all the Canon business units brought together including new technologies in Photography, High-Resolution Video, Medical, etc. The Medical Systems Division is poised to become a major part of Canon’s global future. There were lots of demonstrations highlighting all the breakthroughs happening in different business sectors, and special attention focused on DR Imaging. It was fascinating to see all the new technology that exists and how Canon will use technology from one business unit and cross it over to the others.
One of the highlights of the Expo was the new Canon wireless DR detector product. With systems expected to begin delivering in the October timeframe, this new imaging panel will be much easier to use and completely mobile. You can take it with you from room to room or portable to portable helping to enhance the patient’s experience and making it much easier for your techs to perform their jobs. I learned it will be fully integrated with Shimadzu products, as well.
I’d love to get your feedback on the following topic:
What are the benefits you see in combining a wireless DR panel to your equipment to make the equipment more flexible? (No image quality will be impacted, by the way, with this new wireless product.) How much time do you think you could save? It what ways could you lower your costs?
Let me know what you think…
Pete
